How do I get to the hotel from Pulkovo Airport?

It is about 18km from Pulkovo, the international terminal, to the Grand Hotel Emerald. Guest taking taxis or transfers can expect a drive of around 40 minutes to the hotel. Alternatively, take buses nos. 3, 13, or 113 from the bus stop to the left of the arrivals lounge exit and travel to Moskovskaya Metro Station, about 15 minutes' drive away. From there, travel north five stops on the blue line to Technologicheskiy Institut. Cross the platform to board the northbound red line and travel a further three stops to Ploshchad Vosstaniya. From there it is just over ten minutes' walk east along Nevsky Prospekt and north up Suvorovsky Prospekt to the Grand Hotel Emerald.

It is possible to walk from Moskovsky Station to the Grand Hotel Emerald, which is a little over 500m from the station. Leave the station by the main entrance, cross Goncharnaya Ulitsa, and turn right down Nevsky Prospekt. Take the first left onto Suvorovsky Prospekt, and the Grand Hotel Emerald is five blocks up the road on your left. If you prefer to take a taxi or transfer, the drive will take 5-10 minutes.

How do I get to the hotel from Ladozhsky Station?

Ladozhsky Station is in the east of St. Petersburg, just over 5km from the Grand Hotel Emerald. By taxi or pre-arranged transfer, the drive will take around 20 minutes. Alternatively, take the metro from Ladozhskaya Metro Station and travel two stops west on the orange line to Ploshchad Aleksandra Nevskogo. Change there to the green line and travel one stop further on the green line to Mayakovskaya. Exit the station via the underpass at the centre of the platform and you will come out into Moskovsky Railway Station, which is around 500m from the Grand Hotel Emerald.

How do I get from the hotel to the Hermitage?

The easiest way to reach the Hermitage from the Grand Hotel Emerald is to take a trolleybus (Nos. 5, 7, or 11) from the stop near the corner of 3-aya Sovietskaya Ulitsa (around 100m south of the hotel) and travel five stops along Nevsky Prospekt to the Malaya Morskaya Ulitsa stop. From there it is about 50m up Nevsky Prospekt to the archway of the General Staff Building, which leads onto Palace Square. The main collections of the Hermitage are housed in the Winter Palace on the opposite side of the square, and the main visitor entrance is in the western wing of the building.

How do I get from the hotel to the Mariinsky Theatre?

To reach the Mariinsky Theatre by public transport, walk down Suvorovsky Prospekt to the junction with Nevsky Prospekt (around 200m), and board buses 3, 22, or 27. From there it is eight stops - or roughly 30 minutes' ride - to Teatralnaya Ploshchad and the Mariinsky Theatre.

What visitor attractions are located near the hotel?

St. Petersburg's main visitor attractions, including the Hermitage, St. Isaac's Cathedral, and the State Russian Museum, are mostly located at the opposite end of Nevsky Prospekt from the Grand Hotel Emerald, and can be accessed by bus or trolleybus in around 20 minutes.
