Russian visas in the US
There are five Russian Visa Centers across the US (see details below). The main point of interest for US citizens applying for Russian visas is that since 2013 all US travelers to Russia are eligible to apply for a three-year multi-entry visa no matter what the purpose of their trip. This visa, which costs the same as a regular tourist visa, allows you to stay in the Russian Federation for up to six months at a time over a 36-month period. In other words, if you wish to stay long-term in Russia, all you will need to do is exit and re-enter the country once every six months.

There are no extra documents required for US citizens to apply for a Russian Travel Visa. In fact, the only document you need to submit - apart from your passport, visa support documents, and completed application form - is a cover letter with details of your itinerary (including dates of entry and departure, and the Russian cities, you plan to visit).
