History of the Peter and Paul Fortress

Situated in the left-hand section of the Nevskaya Curtain Wall, this display of over 500 exhibits concentrates on the architectural history of the Peter and Paul Fortress, charting the various stages of construction in the 18th and 19th centuries, and the advances in building technology that they employed. The exhibits include archaeological finds, architectural blueprints, maps from the early 18th century, engravings and photographs, architectural models, and a wide range of historic construction tools. Multimedia displays are also featured.
