Artillery Stores

Built at the very beginning of the 19th century, the Artillery Stores are a simple, single-story neoclassical building located just inside the Petrovsky Gates. Designed by the military engineer A.M. Briskorn, they were built to store arms and military equipment, but were later used as the fortress's fire depot, a telephone station, and finally for training of the fortress garrison. They now house exhibition halls and offices of the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
