Nearly all St. Petersburg's most popular visitor attractions are within comfortable walking distance of the apartment, and Nevsky Prospekt, the city's magnificent central thoroughfare, is around 300 m down the embankment from the apartment. Next door but one is the Alexander Pushkin Apartment Museum, where Russia's greatest poet lived his final days before being fatally wounded in a duel.
