Primavera Hotel: Location & Directions
|
 |
|
|
Nearest metro: Mayakovskaya
Location is the prime selling point for the Primavera Hotel. Situated on the eastern section of Nevsky Prospekt, St. Petersburg's magnificent central avenue, the hotel is outside the "Golden Triangle" of top tourist attractions, but close enough for the Hermitage, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Church of Our Saviour on the Spilled Blood, and the State Russian Museum to be accessible (by bus or metro) in 15 minutes.
With good public transport links, the hotel is in a great location for business travellers, with Moskovsky Station, where nearly all trains connecting St. Petersburg with the capital arrive/depart, only five minutes' walk from the Primavera. The hotel is also excellently situated for enjoying the best of the city's downtown dining, nightlife, and shopping.
Vitebsky Station, which serves trains to the Baltic States, Belarus, and Ukraine, is only ten minutes' drive away, while Ladozhsky Station (for trains to/from Finland and Northern Russia) is 20-30 minutes away by car. Mayakovskaya Metro Station is only 50m from the Primavera Hotel.
Pulkovo-2 International Airport is around 16km from the Primavera, and the drive can take anything from 30 to 90 minutes depending on traffic conditions. Pulkovo-1, the domestic terminal, is a few kilometers further away. |
 | Local sightseeing |
The main sightseeing area of St. Petersburg starts just over 500m from the Primavera Hotel, at the point where Nevsky Prospekt crosses the Fontanka River. A huge number of bus and trolleybus services running up Nevsky will take guests to the most popular attractions in 10 minutes, or they can use the metro one stop from Mayakovskaya to Gostiny Dvor.
In the immediate vicinity of the hotel, there are few specific sights that are likely to interest visitors, although the views along Nevsky Prospekt are still stunning. Ploshchad Vosstaniya, the sight of Moskovsky Station, also has a monument to Leningrad the "Hero City", a title given to the Russian cities that bore the brunt of the Nazi invasion.
Along Ulitsa Marata, just over five minutes' walk from the Primavera, the Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic is located in the building of a former church, and holds an exhaustive collection of artifacts chronicling Russian and Soviet polar exploration. |
