The Azimut Hotel is located on the south edge of the historical center of St. Petersburg, near the intersection of Lermontovsky Prospekt and the Fontanka River. The hotel is just a few blocks away from the world-famous Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater, but visiting any of the city's other major attractions will involve the use of a car or public transport. Rooms on the upper floors of the hotel feature fantastic views of the city center with the domes of St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Trinity Cathedral and St. Nicholas' Cathedral dominating the skyline. The nearest Metro Station is just a short walk or tram ride away from the Azimut. The hotel's Standard Rooms are clean and comfortable but lack modern amenities. Newer facilities and furniture can be found in the renovated rooms of the Fontanka Wing of the hotel or on its Business Floors. In-house dining opportunities are numerous but less than spectacular. The area surrounding the hotel is safe, but rather featureless and guests will find better entertainment options elsewhere in town.
