Local sightseeing
Situated in the southern part of St. Petersburg's historic center, the Acme Mini-Hotel on Rubinshteina is within walking distance of most of the city's most famous attractions, including the Hermitage, the State Russian Museum, and St. Isaac's and Kazan Cathedrals.

Just a few minutes' walk from the Acme are the embankments of the Fontanka River, one of the picturesque waterways that has earned St. Petersburg the epithet "The Venice of the North". Among the highlights on this stretch of the river are the Lomonosov and Anchikov Bridges, and the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace on the corner of Nevsky Prospekt, a late-19th century anomaly that revived the heyday of late baroque architecture.

Around five minutes' walk from the hotel on Vladimirsky Prospekt, the Church of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God is one of St. Petersburg's largest and most beautiful churches, built at the transition period between baroque and neoclassicism. The church and the neighborhood feature prominently in the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky, who lived at several addresses nearby in the course of his life. The Dostoevsky Memorial Apartment Museum, a few steps from the church, contains artifacts connected to the author, and also regularly hosts theatrical events and concerts.
